Question: What does Isa 30.8-15 mean? How should we apply it to our lives?
Verse 8 is a plain command that what is happening needs to be recorded so it will not be lost.
Verse 9 directs it to those children who claim Him as Father and guide for their lives, yet will not abide in His words.
Verses 10-11 tells of the children's unwillingness to set under His plain instruction and force those who are appointed to the task of instruction to sugar coat and twist His plain teachings if they want their numbers and dollars to continue.
In verses 12-14 Yahweh speaks plainly – If you insist and persist in your wrong doing your house shall fall on you, without pity.
Verse 15 if directing us to the path of safety and supply: Return – return you who are weary. Take up the law and cease your complaining and YOU WILL BE SAVED! Your being will be in quite contemplation and it will supply your strength.
The end of verse 15 is the last warning before judgment falls. The Jews who stayed in Egypt continued in the easy downward path until in Jeremiah 44 Yahweh removed not only His protection but the privilege of His name on their lips.
