Gr bk pg 2

(Gen 14:18-24 KJV)  And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the Most High Almighty. 14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the Most High Almighty, possessor of heaven and earth:14:20 And blessed be the Most High Almighty, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. 14:21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. 14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto Yahweh, the most high Almighty, the possessor of heaven and earth,

14:23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: 14:24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

[Abram won the war and was entitled to take all, every man, every woman, every child, all the treasures recaptured and all belonging to the enemy he had defeated.

Still he showed his real character by the following acts:

He paid tithe of all to the recognized priest of the day.

He was beyond generous with the king of Sodom, the city of those rescued by not only honoring the kings request for the personages saved, but also all their former possessions, plus the gain from the enemies camp.

What he did claim as a gift, not his right, was to replace whatever had been used to gain the victory and his warriors fair share of that booty.

How often does a boardroom decision take from the worker what should have been their reward for a job well done and give it as a dividend to the share holders or as a generous gift to some charity – thereby by passing the right of the workers to share in the over abundance their labor has produced.]

Perspective is a gift of wisdom, so what is it? The ability to see things from a place you are not in at the time.

Looking back on the past to see how you got where you are at as if you were not the chief actor is a form of perspective.

Looking at the choices of today and following them to a rational conclusion is an other gift of perspective, but in this there is no way to account for the unexpected happenings that will influence the outcome.

Looking at the past to try to avoid making the same mistakes can and is usually helpful if we can be honest in our hearts about the who's and wherefores. But making plans for the future bound by the past is error. Today is the day we are called to stand and be counted, and it is by the strength Yahweh has granted us for this day that we will be able to stand and fill in the gaps created yesterday. An honest look at motives and actions of today will give you a day you can recall with joy for today is the day you have stood and yes today is the day Yahweh is calling you to be His loving child whose joy it is to be obedient, to see things from His perspective.

Generation H1755 a dore (door) so what door or doors are we opening or closing for the next generation?

When does a child become the child of the parent(s)? Or when do we become the sons and daughters of Yahweh? “When they think like Him, feel like Him, judge like Him, and without fear come before Him because He and they mean the same things, love the same things, seek the same ends.” {Unspoken Sermons} MacDonald

Yahweh is opening to me a new understanding about the self He wants me to be: Not fighting to be heard in a world ruled by men, but rather to allow the female softness and compassion to rise and mature so the strength no longer damages those it was given to instruct and protect.

Loving obedience – that obedience rendered by a young child whose greatest joy is to please the parent.

Have you ever thought how many hours of your life you give up for things that are not necessary to sustain life in comfort. Housing that keeps out the weather and any meaning you harm. Heat and light, water and septic, yes even electricity. Food enough to satisfy and have some to share. Clothing that covers and protects. Transportation is important in today’s world, but do you need all the bells and whistles and the chrome? What else in the physical do we really need? Before you buy the next ticket, etc that allows you to enjoy time away from all that, think about how many hours you spent away from home to earn it, and how many more hours it will take you away from that home to enjoy it. Is it really worth it?

I came from a time of need, real need for food, clothing, housing, etc. still we enjoyed life. A good time cost popcorn and apples if available, but they were the frosting not the cake. The cake was the time spent around the table playing games and laughing together and helping the young ones to learn new skills. Time building relationships and learning of the lives that went before us in the 'remember when' moments. I know you get remembering moments from doing things away from home but they rarely are opportunities to share you heart or your memories.

I read the following I do not know where but it strikes me as true.

'tears are misplaced rain if they do not bring forth growth.'
