[As I was going over the day the thought of pride came to me strongly, and the memory of how many times people refuse what they or those in their care need because of pride. It is a sad fact that believers can be the worse offenders. I think it is a fear that others will judge their relationship with Yahweh in a negative way if they accept or admit they have unmet need. So let us look at what scripture says, and what Webster says. ]
Pride H1342 A primitive root; to mount up; hence in general to rise, (figuratively) be majestic: - gloriously, grow up, increase, be risen, triumph. (7)
(Exo 15:1 KJV) Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto Yahweh, and spake, saying, I will sing unto Yahweh, for he hath triumphed gloriouslyH1342: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
[There are 5 verses but those speaking of Yahweh repeat the meaning.]

PRIDE, v.t. With the reciprocal pronoun, to pride one's self, to indulge pride; to take pride; to value one's self; to gratify self-esteem. They pride themselves in their wealth, dress or equipage. He prides himself in his achievements.
(Pro 8:13 KJV) The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
[When all is said and done sin is at the heart of pride, all of it. Pride does not give Yahweh the credit for its basis, but takes credit for what Yahweh has given.
How much better if we gave credit where credit is due.
I am grateful to Yahweh for the gift of:
the ability to get wealth, make friends, influence people for good, my talents, my family’s accomplishments, etc.]
(Jas 1:17 KJV) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
[When we consider the truth we have nothing to be proud of but Yahweh. Even our relationship with Him is a gift from Him. As with all gifts we can accept it or refuse it, that is our free choice. To accept each gift as from our Father need not make us feel smaller for it reflects on His presence in the life of the giver. Even if it is only there for the moment you need it.
We rob each other as well as Yahweh when we yield to any type of pride, rather we should be happy to give Yahweh the credit for we could do nothing without His gifting s.
In 2017 at Tabernacles I accepted the help of another to wash my hair because I could not lift my hands about my head without great pain. The sister who helped me made the following statement.
“It hurts me to see you allowing this as you have always been to proud to accept help in the past.”
I think perhaps, because she was also proud, she was looking at her possible future. That is the season Yahweh broke my pride and I am so thankful. Not that I never fall in that pit from time to time, but it is no longer in my heart continually.
Since that time Yahweh has been rebuilding me in the physical, mental, emotional, and best of all spiritual areas of my life. I gained so much when I finally gave credit to Yahweh for any good thing in me, instead of bragging of my ‘abilities’ and my ‘accomplishments’, none of which would have been possible without His provision.
I have seen caregivers turn down help when their charges had unmet needs stating they did not take nor need ‘charity’. Still charity should be offered in love for that is its meaning, and should be accepted as loving. Let us not give up on helping each other or repeatedly offering aid where we see the need just because of the pride of those we would help. We never know when Yahweh will have helped them to accept help. Try to find another way to get the help to them in Yahweh and Yahshua’s names. Pray before offering, while offering, and a prayer of thanks when there is acceptance.
Do not let personal pride cause us to take the refusal as a personal rebuff, but lay it at Yahshua’s feet for a solution.
If you are the one refusing look at your motives and ask Yahweh to lead you in repentance, and acceptance.
Remember the old story of the man caught in a flood?
‘He prayed to Yahweh to save him.
A truck came and offered to take him and his most precious things and he replied: ‘No thanks Yahweh is going to rescue me’.
When the water covered the first floor and he was at an upper window a boat came by and offered to take him to safety and he replied: ‘ No thanks Yahweh is going to rescue me.’.
The water reached the roof and he was sitting on the chimney and a helicopter dropped a rope to pick him up and he said: ‘No thanks Yahweh is going to rescue me.’
Lastly the man drowned and when he came before the Most High he asked why Yahweh had not rescued him.
Yahweh replied: ‘I sent you a truck, a boat , and a helicopter and you refused them all. What more could I have done?’
Let none of us be so blind to the blessings Yahweh sends though the hands of others. Not only does He use His obedient children but He also uses any who are willing to be used, even those who deny Him. All good gifts are from above. It is true there are times when we may suspect the givers motives, and those suspicions may be correct, so that is a time to say to the giver: I thank you and I will ask Yahweh if it is okay. Then pray about it and listen for His answer which sometimes comes though others.
When we do a word search like this one it is easier to allow that there may be times when an honest mistake happens in translation. I do not believe all are intentional for some make no sense to me, but then some of my past errors make no sense in light of what I now know.]
