[I am reading in Kings and just looked at the side commentary and lo and behold our currant message!]
(2Ki 16:1 KJV) In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign. 16:2 Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of YAHWEH his Almighty, like David his father. 16:3 But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom YAHWEH cast out from before the children of Israel. 16:4 And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
[A king is to be the example of righteousness to the people. Ahaz worshiped as the people did and if the word 'and' can be seen to add, he worshiped more wickedly than the people thus leading them into greater and greater sins.]
(Deu 1:29-36 KJV) Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them. 1:30 YAHWEH your Almighty which goeth before you, He shall fight for you, according to all that He did for you in Egypt before your eyes; 1:31 And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that YAHWEH thy Almighty bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place. 1:32 Yet in this thing ye did not believe YAHWEH your Almighty, 1:33 Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day. 1:34 And YAHWEH heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,1:35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers, 1:36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed YAHWEH.
[I thought our examples would be the kings, but here is an example of thousands of fathers rebelling against Yahweh. This is truly the reason for belief and obedience falling away from the purity that Yahweh gave. Not all failed – there were two among thousands who passed the test. But having seen how those who hold to an unpopular action, idea, etc. are treated today it would wonder me if their children were not paying for the parents unpopular stand. Why follow dad if it causes problems?]
(Jos 17:13 KJV) Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.
[In Deuteronomy 7.1 YAHWEH told the people if they would drive them out He would help do so. But the children gave up and set the example of partial obedience, which is in truth disobedience. Kind of like one who says, “I do not buy or sell on the Sabbath”, and who allows others to do it for them. Thus causing the employee or others to sin. Sin is sin even if you do not believe it is sin. There are 12 reference to sinning in ignorance in the Torah and every one calls for repentance.]
(Jdg 2:17-21 KJV) And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of YAHWEH; but they did not so. 2:18 And when YAHWEH raised them up judges, then YAHWEH was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented YAHWEH because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them. 2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. 2:20 And the anger of YAHWEH was hot against Israel; and He said, Because that this people hath transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto My voice; 2:21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
[The example set at the Jordan has grown stronger as the years pass and here we have the results, Yahweh will no longer drive out their enemies as we see today in modern Israel.]
(Neh 13:16-22 KJV) There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. 13:17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day? 13:18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our Almighty bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.13:19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. 13:20 So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice. 13:21 Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath. 13:22 And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my Almighty, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.
[The Sabbath has always been a test of loyalty to YAHWEH. Here the men of Tyre are being castigated, but if there were no buyers the sellers would not come. Nehemiah set the example for the priesthood and all who would listen and learn. The adults spoken to were the example to their families, one of grudging obedience, which is always temporary.]
(Neh 13:23-31 KJV) In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab: 13:24 And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people. 13:25 And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by Almighty, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves. 13:26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his Almighty, and Almighty made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin. 13:27 Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our Almighty in marrying strange wives? 13:28 And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me. 13:29 Remember them, O my Almighty, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites. 13:30 Thus cleansed I them from all strangers, and appointed the wards of the priests and the Levites, every one in his business; 13:31 And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the first fruits. Remember me, O my Almighty, for good.
[If we continue to read we find they took back the wives and children that they have sent away. So the priesthood could not be depended on to set the good example, but they were openly rebellious against YAHWEH'S laws they were to teach and keep.]
(Isa 42:22-25 KJV) But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. 42:23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come? 42:24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not YAHWEH, He against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in His ways, neither were they obedient unto His law. 42:25 Therefore He hath poured upon him the fury of His anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
[YAHWEH'S example of chastisement for those who refuse to obey. In spite of YAHWEH'S warnings the people refused to lay it to heart, much as the general populous of today's church's who claim to worship Him. Do the disobedient of today face deportation? Slavery? Imprisonment? No it is more likely to be the obedient and that for their protection.]
(Joh 9:13 KJV) They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 9:14 And it was the sabbath day when YAHSHUA made the clay, and opened his eyes. 9:15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. 9:16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of Almighty, because He keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. 9:17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of Him, that He hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet. 9:18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
[How mankind seeks to keep his world under his control even when there are examples which prove there is a power greater that can manifest itself in their lives. The Pharisees were in danger of blaspheme by refusing to allow for belief in YAHSHUA'S work on the Sabbath. What about saying YAHSHUA was not of YAHWEH thereby implying He served another?]
(Joh 9:19-23 KJV) And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? 9:20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: 9:21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. 9:22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that He was Messiah, he should be put out of the synagogue. 9:23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
[They testified to that which they could not deny, but for safeties sake they refused to speak further.]
(Joh 9:24-33 KJV) Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give Almighty the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. 9:25 KJV) He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. 9:26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? 9:27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? 9:28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples. 9:29 We know that Almighty spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is. 9:30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence He is, and yet He hath opened mine eyes. 9:31 Now we know that Almighty heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of Almighty, and doeth His will, him He heareth. 9:32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. 9:33 If this man were not of Almighty, He could do nothing.
[What examples we have in this one chapter of scripture.
The priesthood and the Pharisees declared Yahshua a sinner for two counts,
working on the Sabbath – to heal and to pick up the mud and apply it.
The 'victim' accuses them-those questioning him, of refusing to hear his testimony.
The authorities refused to acknowledge that YAHSHUA came from YAHWEH or that the healing came through YAHWEH.
The 'victim' exclaims that it is a conundrum that they could not discern a spiritual answer and yet they were the teachers.
Again the 'victim' of YAHSHUA'S trickery sets forth the plain truth: If YAHSHUA was not who He said He was He could do nothing.
What of the people who were there and those who later heard of this incident? Would they doubt the authorities or would they believe the action? The days are approaching us when there will be true healers among us. Will they be accepted as from YAHWEH or will they be suspect as most such healing are today? We need to be aware there have always been and will continue to be those who also use trickery to obtain wealth by staging healing s.
Lessons learned by experience seldom leave those who pay attention, but that is the hard way to learn. Better to learn by attention to scripture.
The day is approaching when the media will no longer be available to spread truth. We already have laws forbidding speaking against certain actions and groups. If you do speak plainly and anyone complains you will be charged with a 'hate' crime. Are you ready to face that possibility? I think most of us are raw recruits, maybe scared of the sorrows attached to 'standing and being counted' in the fighting ranks. If you do not pass the 'embarrassment test' , the test of plainly standing against family and neighbors for Yahweh's truth when that is the first test, how will you stand when freedom, wealth, health, are at risk? And that same fate may befall on those you love who do not believe as you do because of their association with you. Are you ready to stand while they are punished for your beliefs that they do not hold?]
[PS. When I was going into the jail I had the strong impression it was to train warriors for Yahweh and I told this to the men and women who studied with me. I taught 100's over the 30+ years before the system kicked me out. A few of them serve as my care givers at this time. They have not yet made a firm stand for Yahweh, but they are available, pray for them.]
