Wash Me!

December 28, 2019

[Here we are at the end of another year, and it is cold so why washing? Let's see what we will see.]

(Psa 51:1-4 KJV)  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O Almighty, according to Thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 51:4 Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Thy sight: that Thou mightest be justified when Thou speakest, and be clear when Thou judgest.

[I was just finishing 1Sam. When the commentary caught my eye. “Saul failed because he did not pray as David did to have his sins revealed to him.” How often do I pray that prayer? Should it not be at the end of every day so correction and consequences can be minimized?]

(Psa 51:5-13 KJV) Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 51:6 Behold, Thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part Thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which Thou hast broken may rejoice. 51:9 Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O Almighty; and renew a right spirit within me. 51:11 Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy Set-apart spirit from me. 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation [Yahshua]; and uphold me with Thy free spirit. 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

[David under stood that it was Yahweh's spirit that does the work of cleansing, not David. The idea of a sinful birth is introduced and since we all sin then it follows that imperfect parents could not produce a sinless child. Thus the need for washing. Since scripture tells us our hearts are wicked we need help from outside ourselves to accomplish the washing.

David admits he sins, repents, accepts forgiveness, and then teaches others of the walk of salvation.

David was a murderer, and an adulterer, yet he was forgiven when he repented, turned from his sin and sought Yahweh's instructions. Both murder and adultery carried the death penalty. You are not beyond the reach of salvation for Yahweh has the final word and if He has placed a yearning in your heart HE WILL SEE YOU SAFELY HOME!]

(Eze 36:22-28 KJV) Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Most High Yahweh; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for Mine Set-apart name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.36:23 And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am Yahweh, saith the Most High Yahweh, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 36:27 And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them. 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be My people, and I will be your Almighty.

[Since we are part of Israel this applies to us. Since we set great store in Yahweh's name how can this be us? Well maybe it is our daily life that calls our words to be doubted? Has your walk with Yahweh and Yahshua's caused a change not only in your actions but in your thought patterns as well? Do you have a changed heart? Or is it still giving place to hate and anger? Yahweh has the perfect bath water if you are willing to give up your right to decide and give it to Yahweh so He can instruct you from His word. The rewards are great in the here and now for He truly will walk with you and talk with you so you need never be alone again.]

(1Co 6:9-11 KJV) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of Almighty? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of Almighty. 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified [set-apart for His use], but ye are justified in the name of the Master Yahshua, and by the Spirit of our Almighty.

[We have free choice so if someone wants to avoid the kingdom of Yahweh they are free to do so, but woe to those who attempt to keep out those who would be willing to enter in.]

(Heb 10:19-23 KJV) Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest [Most Set-apart] by the blood of Yahshua, 10:20 By a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh; 10:21 And having an high priest over the house of Yahweh; 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)

[Here we are – washed both in mind and body. Hold fast and do not fall, physically or spiritually, into the old self for it will lead to hell.]

(1Jn 1:5-10 KJV) This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that Yahweh is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yahshua Messiah His Son cleanseth us from all sin.1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

[If we were perfect, never, ever, erring we would not need a savior, protector, provider, for we would be able to take care of ourselves. Perfection is what we strive for. When we are changed we will be fit companions for Yahweh and Yahshua, but until then let us continue to walk in their foot steps.]

(Rev 1:4-6 KJV) John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from Him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne; 1:5 And from Yahshua Messiah, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto Yahweh His Father; to Him be glory [honor] and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

[Our freedom to worship Yahweh, to own a copy of the scriptures, to speak freely of Yahweh and Yahshua and our relationship, etc. all these have been paid for by the blood of Yahshua and then by all who love this truth enough to give their last breath for it. Do not treat it lightly!]

(Rev 7:11-15 KJV) And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped Yahweh, 7:12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and Esteem, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our Almighty for ever and ever. Amen [Let it be so]. 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of Yahweh, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

[Verse 14 is often cited as speaking only of those that go though the final tribulation, but most translations agree it is those who have come through a great tribulation holding up Yahweh and Yahshua, so those of all ages. It will indeed be a great multitude! There will also be present others who have covenanted with Yahweh through Yahshua's sacrifice that have not seen great tribulation.]

(Psa 19:7-14 KJV) The law[Torah] of Yahweh is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Yahweh is sure, making wise the simple. 19:8 The statutes of Yahweh are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of Yahweh is pure, enlightening the eyes. 19:9 The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of Yahweh are true and righteous altogether. 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse Thou me from secret faults. 19:13 Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Yahweh, my strength, and my redeemer.

[We began this lesson with an admission of guilt and a plea to be washed from secret sins. Those sins only me and my Almighty know about. Those sins that, like mice spread pollution, and termites that eat at the foundation in the dark and hidden places of our hearts and minds.

These are not sins others see plainly in us, or that we willingly recognize in ourselves, no they are hidden by the enemy even from our own minds and hearts sometimes. There may be a sense that all is not right spiritually, but you cannot find what it is. It is just a sense of unease from you do not know where. That is the time for serious on your knees, with tears beseeching for revelation and washing. When your heart is ready to give it up you will receive the cleansing, but you may never know in this life what the sin was. That in its self is a blessing for then there is no residual guilt.

Yahweh is to be our all in all, and when He is we will be truly clean.]
