[The following passage that deals with mother’s milk follows the commandments dealing with the feasts of Yahweh. Are they connected or is this a stand a lone commandment?]
(Exo 23:14-19 KJV) Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto Me in the year. 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before Me empty:) 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field. 23:17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Most High Yahweh. 23:18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of My sacrifice remain until the morning. 23:19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of Yahweh thy Almighty. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
[Here the command is among the commandments dealing with Yahweh’s feasts and the offerings to be set before Him at that time.
It would seem that this is a command to not make this type of offering. Years ago a brother brought forth the idea that this was a pagan ritual, therefore abhorrent to Yahweh.
For centuries the Rabbi’s have taught it is a command not to eat meat and milk in the same meal. Not only that but they placed restrictions to avoid this accidentally happening by requiring two sets of cookware and servicing dishes to avoid any contamination.
In order to have and set a Kosher meal either milk or meat was not to be served.
Since we are the children of Yahweh I know He has not set this to be a riddle, but an easily followed command. Do Not Cook A Kid In Its Mother’s Milk! If we follow this injunction we will never break this command. But we will be breaking the commands of men if we serve milk and meat at the same time.]
(Exo 34:23-27 KJV) Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Most High Yahweh, the Almighty of Israel. 34:24 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before Yahweh thy Almighty thrice in the year. 34:25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.
34:26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of Yahweh thy Almighty. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.34:27 And Yahweh said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
[Here again the command to appear before Yahweh and to bring sacrifices that are pleasing to Him. Again forbidding the boiling of a kid in his mother’s milk.]
(Deu 14:11-20 KJV) Of all clean birds ye shall eat. 14:12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, 14:13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind, 14:14 And every raven after his kind, 14:15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, 14:16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, 14:17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant, 14:18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. 14:19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. 14:20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat. 14:21 Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art a set-apart people unto Yahweh thy Almighty. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
[The third witness.]
(Deu 17:4-7 KJV) And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel: 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. 17:7 The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.
[For the third time Yahweh warned us NOT TO BOIL A KID IN ITS MOTHER’S MILK. Such a simple command, always given with no comment. We have our three witnesses, what more could Yahweh have done? Mankind is set upon interpreting every word from Yahweh’s mouth searching for hidden treasure and adding to the requirements of Yahweh. It seems as if we are determined to have our say. It reminds me of a story of a person who fed the birds but was upset by those that banged against the windows. So he put a screen over the window but the birds still flew into it and were harmed. Next he put a grill over the screen and still they crashed into it. He continued until he could see the birds no more. Perhaps that is what happened with this command. Those in charge decided to protect the people from making a mistake and made rule after rule to avoid this, in so that what was a simple command to not cook a kid in its mother’s milk became a burden. As we go though the scriptures together I occasionally see one or more of us doing the same thing. Not because we hate Yahweh but because we love Him and adore Him and wish to never offend Him.]
(Isa 43:3- KJV) For I am Yahweh thy Almighty, the Set-apart One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. 43:4 Since thou wast precious in My sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
[Yahweh cannot lie! We are part of Israel by adoption and through the shed blood of Yahshua and HE LOVES US.]
(Jer 31:1-3 KJV) At the same time, saith Yahweh, will I be the Almighty of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people. 31:2 Thus saith Yahweh, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. 31:3 Yahweh hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.
[Yahweh gives us choice but He did not leave us to stumble about in the darkness He draws each of us to Himself. The choice to belong to Him or not is ours, but never forget He has already decided to love us, no matter what. We can lessen that love as Esau did with his rejection of the gifts of the first born, but again that is our choice not Yahweh’s. See Ro. 9.13 In this scripture it says Yahweh hates Esau but when you look up the word hate it translates into loves less.]
(Rev 3:7-10 KJV) And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith He that is set-apart, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My word, and hast not denied My name. 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
[May we all fit in this description. Yahweh and Yahshua are helping us as much as our obedience will allow. They have the power to aid us as we pass though this life and they freely offer it to us. This is not UNCONDITIONAL, there are requirements to be met as spelled out in scripture. The problem seems to be that mankind insists on adding and taking away from His words. If we follow the plainly spelled out requirements we have nothing to fear for He loves us and it is His desire to bring us safely home. Each of us has their own path to follow. Much is required of some, and not so much of others. Why? If it is your desire to live in the tabernacle then you will be required to do and not do more than the general population. If we depend on Yahweh for our daily needs our lives will be relieved of much of the stress of daily life and our health will benefit as well. Let us today decide to live as simply as we can according to scripture and to help others to do the same. My choices are not necessarily what you need in your life, nor will my life look exactly like your life. Still we will be on the same path if we are applying the simple meanings of scripture to our daily life. Others will be able to see we have the same Master and Savior for we will be walking an easily seen pathway.
If we are to draw others to join us our walk must yield true joy, for who wants to join themselves to gloom.]
(Neh 8:8-12 KJV) So they read in the book in the law of Almighty distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. 8:9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is set-apart unto Yahweh your Almighty; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is set-apart unto our Most High: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of Yahweh is your strength. 8:11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved. 8:12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.
(Psa 5:11-12 KJV) But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee. 5:12 For Thou, Yahweh, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt Thou compass him as with a shield.
[If we are to be strong in Yahweh we must think on all we have been given, especially in the spiritual which is all we will have after this life. Our every word about Yahweh and Yahshua should be with joy for the joy they have given us. My life now is a walk in the park on a sunny day with the best friend I have ever had. There are times when I fret and stew about stuff, but I know from experience that Yahweh will bring about the best solution at the last possible moment. Why does He make us wait?]
(Isa 43:19-21 KJV) Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 43:20 The beast of the field shall honour Me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen. 43:21 This people have I formed for Myself; they shall shew forth My praise.
(Joh 15:9-14 KJV) As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My love. 15:10 If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 15:12 This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
[Yahweh does not act ahead of time but at the moment of actual need that we might realize it is He who has delivered, not the instrument He has chosen to use. The word joy is used over a hundred times in scripture. Verse 15 is plain that He gave us His commands and other regulations that we might escape many of the trials of this life. If we are honest with ourselves we will admit that our poor choices are what brings on most of our problems, at least that has been true in my life. In spite of that my choice to love and serve Yahweh and to accept the shed blood of Yahshua to cover my earnestly repented sins has given me an inner joy and a strength based on my reliance on His provision and protection. Now and forever as long as I do not depart from following His righteousness. He is the source of my joy.]
